Melbourne Cup 3 November 2020
A big thank you to Amazing Grace Patisserie (located in the Laidley Florist) for a wonderful high tea to celebrate the Melbourne Cup... with appropriate social distancing, of course!
It was a lovely chance to sit back, enjoy the good food and the great company and take a few moments to take stock of this wild year we call 2020.
And it certainly was lucky for some of us who won first and third in the sweeps.... right Pam?

Laidley Hospital Auxiliary International Women's Day High Tea 8 March 2019
Pam Wardle was again honoured to be Mistress of Ceremonies at the Laidley Hospital Auxiliary International Women's Day in 2019. We learned about the history of International Women's Day and the progress of varying complexities in promoting equal rights, equal responsibilities and equal opportunities across the world to achieve Balance for Better.
Laidley Spring Festival Window Display Competition 2018 - Songs of Yesteryear
We are back again for the window display in 2018 with the theme "Songs of Yesteryear".
Laidley Hospital Auxiliary International Women's Day High Tea 2018
Pam Wardle was privileged to be the Mistress of Ceremonies at the Laidley Hospital Auxiliary International Women's Day on 8 March 2018. It was a wonderful day with a terrific turnout. We celebrated as we Press for Progress and recognise that this is done through extraordinary women who have the courage to change attitudes and recognise that we are all human (photo from The Gatton Star).
Lockyer Valley Business, Training & Apprenticeship Awards 2016
We managed to make it as a finalist again! Many thanks to the sponsors and event holders. A particular thanks to our staff who make the business what it is - we would not be here without them!
Laidley Spring Festival September 2016 - We are Australian
We won third prize for our window display this year! We did not do individual window displays but we worked together on one central display. We love our sheep!
And, of course, our float which draws from the lyrics of "I am Australian" by the Seekers...
Lockyer Valley Business, Training and Apprenticeship Awards 2015
We were lucky enough to be a finalist in the 2015 Lockyer Valley Business, Training and Apprenticeship Awards. We were unlucky in claiming the award but it was a great night. Congratulations to the winners!

Laidley Spring Festival September 2015 - Treasures of the Earth
We also had fun preparing our float for the parade!

Arts with Benefits Project September 2014 - Australian Outback
We had a great time doing the project to support "Aussie Helpers" by creating a piece with the theme "Australian Outback". The piece is a collaborative effort from everyone in the office for the photograph, painting, patchwork, collection of items (including autographs) and
Unfortunately, our piece did not sell at the exhibition so we now have it proudly hanging in our front office. Many, many thanks to The Wiggles, Darryl Braithwaite, Shannon Noll, Shane Webcke and Kate Cook for providing their autographs for our piece! |

Laidley Spring Festival September 2014 - Four Seasons
Spring is back!
A window for each season and some paintings to boot... All of the windows looked wonderful. Congratulations to Nicky for winning our CW Hooper & Hooper Spring Festival Display competition. For our float in the parade, we had a Vivaldi-inspired version of the theme this year - no closer to winning, though! |

Laidley Spring Festival September 2013 - Favourite Pastimes
Thank you Laidley for putting on a great birthday for our 118th birthday!
Charles W Hooper began practicing on 14 September 1895 the anniversary of which happened to coincide with this year's Laidley Spring Festival... So we got cake, too! Our favourite pastime is boardgames... |
